The Proton-Proton Reaction, Solar Neutrinos, and a Relativistic Field Theoretic Model of the Deuteron

چکیده
In a series of recent papers, Ivanov et al. and Oberhummer et al. have calculated the rate for the p + p → d + e + νe reaction with a zero-range four-fermion effective interaction and find a result 2.9 times higher than the standard value calculated from non-relativistic potential theory. Their procedure is shown to give a wrong answer because their assumed interaction disagrees with low-energy pp scattering data.

On the relativistic field theory model of the deuteron II
The relativistic field theory model of the deuteron suggested in [1] is revised and applied to the calculation of the cross sections of the low–energy radiative neutron– proton capture n + p → D + γ and the low–energy two–proton fusion p + p → D + e+ + νe. For the low–energy radiative neutron–proton capture n + p → D + γ our result agrees well with both the experimental data and the potential m...
متن کاملCalculating charge radius for proton with hyper central interacting color potential
An improved M.I.T. bag model with hyper central interaction is used to calculate the charge radius for proton containing u and d quarks. We present a theoretical approach to the internal structure of three-body hyper central interacting quarks in a proton, in which we take proton as a bag. We discuss a few of results obtained using a six-dimension potential, which is attractive for small separa...
متن کاملSolar Proton Burning Process Revisited within a Covariant Model Based on the Bethe-Salpeter Formalism
A covariant model based on the Bethe-Salpeter formalism is proposed for investigating the solar proton burning process pp → Deνe and the near-threshold deuteron disintegration via electromagnetic and weak interactions. Results of numerical calculations of the energy dependence of relevant cross sections and the astrophysical low-energy cross section factor Spp of the proton burning process are ...
متن کاملComputational study of the intramolecular proton transfer between 6-hydroxypicolinic acid tautomeric forms and intermolecular hydrogen bonding in their dimers
This paper is a density functional theory (DFT) calculation of intramolecular proton transfer (IPT) in 6-hydroxypicolinic acid (6HPA, 6-hydroxypyridine-2-carboxylic acid) tautomeric forms. The transition state for the enol-to-keto transition is reported in the gas phase and in four different solvents. The planar and non-planar dimer forms of 6HPA keto and enol, respectively, were also studied i...
متن کاملElectromagnetic reaction cross sections in relativistic heavy ion collisions
The goal of this project was to produce a computer program to predict the cross section of relativistic heavy ion collisions between given projectile and target nuclei . An explanation of the usefulness ofrelativistic heavy ion collision analysis is presented. The use of the WeiszackerWilliams method of virtual quanta for enhancing reaction cross sections of this type is discussed. Quantum-mech...
